Why Do the Pastors Need Motorcycles?

 

Through the ministry of the Christian Motorcyclists Association, in conjunction with Missionary Ventures, we've helped over 70 Honduran pastors and Honduran missionaries receive new Yamaha motorcycles for use in their ministries. These motorcycles are especially helpful in the mountains here, where most "roads" are more like rough paths. Many pastors in our area lead multiple churches in small mountain villages, so transportation is vital to their work. Some, through evangelism and church planting,  continue the work of reaching into the remaining areas of Lempira where there are no churches at all. We are honored to be able to support their efforts in this way.

 

 

Why Would Some Pastors Prefer a Horse?

 

There are certain costs involved in the use and ownership of a motorcycle, including fuel, maintenance, annual registration fees, etc. A percentage of the pastors with whom we work would not be able to come up with those funds on an ongoing basis. Also, some parts of Lempira are inaccessible even by dirt bike - only a horse or mule can climb in! In 12 instances, we have helped pastors in these situations resolve their transportation problems with the acquisition of a horse or mule.
